Esta semana trago-vos uma música que, quando apareceu se tornou num enorme sucesso, o engraçado é que apesar de poder fazer sentido, o refrão, foi muitas vezes “usado” com sentidos muito diferentes da realidade.




Letra: é aqui que reside tudo nesta música, muita gente acreditava que tinha a ver com alguma situação amorosa (e foi assim que o refrão foi muitas vezes utilizado), eu próprio achei que tivesse um conotação politica, o que acaba por ser relativamente verdade, mesmo não sendo no capitulo que eu achava.



A letra conta um bocado a historia da vida de BoB e das dificuldades que enfrentou para entrar no mundo da musica, das dificuldades que teve quando o encontraram a fazer “rimas e versos” no metro e em pequenas competições de hip hop e rap, do pouco dinheiro que ganhava na altura, das promessas de sucesso que teve (como na parte do estar sempre a olhar para o telemóvel, na esperança de alguém lhe ligar e responder aos pedidos dele de ajuda para singrar no mundo da musica).

Fala também da descrença que sente na industria, em especial no hip hop, onde hoje em dia todos, nas suas rimas, falam de politica, e para ele o rap não é isso, mas sim o que se encontra nas ruas em termos de improviso, onde quem canta consegue ter mais criatividade.



Vídeo. Aqui a critica aparece mais direccionada, onde quem aparece junto das pessoas certas, consegue mais facilmente atingir o sucesso, e ele demonstra isso mesmo, como não tinha os contactos certos, teve mais dificuldade em se mostrar.



Curiosidades: apesar de estarem no mesmo vídeo BoB e a Hayley, nunca estiveram juntos quer na gravação da música quer do vídeo, porque ela estava com os Paramore numa digressão.

Alias apenas numa entrega de prémios, eles actuaram pela primeira vez juntos.



Nessa actuação eles interpretaram a Parte II desta música, que conta com a participação de Eminem e basicamente é um diálogo entre este e BoB, do que teria acontecido nas suas vidas se não tivessem seguido a carreira musical. Como o Eminem não esteve presente, improvisaram e foi a Keisha a fazer o seu papel



Contexto: esta foi a música de apresentação ao “mundo” de BoB e sim ele ainda vai voltar mais vezes aqui.
